At DSM Tech Services, we approach coaching with a focus on forming a strong relationship with our students and providing personalised support to help them achieve their goals. Our coaching program follows four basic guidelines:
- Relationship building: We begin by forming a relationship with the potential student, including assessing their readiness for coaching, orienting them to personal and professional coaching, and clarifying how the coach and student prefer to work together.
- Mutual agreement: Next, we establish a mutual agreement or coaching contract, which defines the roles of the coach and student, establishes ground rules for working together, and outlines the plan for the coaching project.
- Goal setting: We then work with the student to develop student-centred goals to be achieved during the coaching project. These goals may be focused on performance or well-being, depending on the needs and goals of the student.
- Regular meetings: Throughout the coaching project, we conduct regular meetings with the coach and student to identify relevant and realistic actions the student can take to achieve their goals and learn in the process.
